Great value is another frequent mention, with meals priced between £1 and £10, making it accessible for families and solo diners alike. The kids' menu receives positive feedback, particularly the sausage and chips with mushy peas, ensuring a family-friendly environment. Lastly, the cleanliness of the establishment is commendable, with regulars noting the attention to maintaining a tidy dining area even during busy hours.
While there's much to love about Fish Chips, some customers express concerns over cleanliness, particularly regarding the tables and floors. A few mentioned needing to request table cleaning, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable experience. During peak hours, the busy atmosphere can lead to longer waits for orders, which can be frustrating for some. Additionally, there are mentions of certain items being temporarily unavailable, which can happen in any bustling spot but may be disappointing to regulars craving their favorite dish.
Lastly, the lack of outdoor seating options may leave some diners wishing for a fresh-air experience when dining in. Overall, while there are a few areas for improvement, they do not overshadow the positive experiences most customers have at this beloved local spot.
I normally come to Tesco for shopping, and was thinking i should give this place a try. The food was really nice the service was really good, we paid £18.00 for 2 mini cods, a small portion of chips and 2 drinks which i think is a fair price. The fish was really nice and so were the chips service was really good, the only issue was the tables were filthy, and nobody was cleaning them, floors were dirty had chips and bits of fish on it, we had to ask for our table to be cleaned, other than that would recommend.
Me and my dad try to go here once a week, we live in Anstey village with 2 chip shops but they are rank! the fish & chips here are fresh, perfectly cooked, delicious and plentiful! the girls serving are very jolly, polite and helpful. In mine and my father's opinion this is the best chip shop for miles!
I like to eat in this chip shop once a week. Not many in Leicester where you can eat in. The food is lovely, fish is always cooked from fresh. The two ladies are very nice and polite they try to guess what I'm going to order because I'm a regular Lol! If i can't get in for any reason they say they've been worried about me, bless them. Thoroughly recommend.
I went in at lunch time and, needless to say, it was a busy one! However that did not stop the staff from working hard to give great service! I ordered a small fish and chips to go, which was cooked to order (so as fresh as you like), and took minimal time to fry. The whole experience took less than 6 minutes. The staff member on counter was friendly and helpful with letting my know choice and prices. She seemed to be able to handle pressure well too, as it was busy with it being lunch time. The prices are fair considering the rising fish prices which are crazy at the moment! The cleanliness of the shop itself was spot on even with it being a decent size, so hats off for keeping it clean even with how busy it seemed to get. All in all I'm not disappointed! 5 stars, no less! Thanks, will be back for sure 👍🏻
Really nice hot cooked to perfection chips Can recommend a Chip Cob for £3 and the kids meal Sausage and Chips with Mushy Peas/ Baked Beans had mine with a blue cup drink for £2.20 with variations. Clean, Polite service.
Great little chippy, their food is always excellent & reasonably priced for the portion sizes you receive.
Decent chippy, would go again. Have a great selection to choose from, also have the room for eating in which is a great option. Sits right on the edge of a big free carpark. This chippy is part of a large shopping centre, and sits next to a mcdonalds and a subway so choice for everyone.
